in the forums people say that it's been a problem that turns up since the 3.1 patch.
but ya i tried restarting and logging back in, and re-logging through another open application of the game. it smoothed out for about three minutes at one point...
what does it mean? do only particular people get grounded in this way or is everyone afflicted when one person experiences it?
lol- my first char: Private Unknown. well, whatever! i'll whisper you when it boils over and one of yr names pops up on the Social Watch

the unknown error can be caused by several things. sometimes it's just lag caused by your cache filling up, sometimes it's corrupted.
if the problem persists, reset modem and reset router and make sure vid card drivers are updated.
and if that doesn't do it, go to the WoW folder on your harddrive, move the .WTF and .WDB folders to your desktop (or copy/delete) and restart game. WoW will recreates these folders on startup. you will lose mods and keybindings, so if that doesn't work, you can move the old files back.
sorry at work and on phone or I'd be more help.
I can walk you through the fix later.
another trick: log out somewhere not so populated. if you log in in a city, you have to wait for cache files to be created for every player you see.
