Mulholland Drive
Martin (George A. Romero) - for a little more confusion, and a romantic comedy aspect
Deep End (Jerzy Skolimowski) - nowhere to be seen, unfortunately; for the central scene, at the Skol, with some music by Can
The Red Shoes (or Black Narcissus) (Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger) - magic and colors (especially Black Narcissus which has the most beautiful lighting I ever saw, even before Days of Heaven)
Le roman de Renard (Ladislas Starewitch) - 1941 animated picture with stuffed animals
Johnny Guitar (Nick Ray) - so cool
Sheena, Queen of the Jungle (John Guillermin) - to convince you that making a good movie ain't that easy, see that crap, or King Kong by the same director, not the original that was so good

Withnail & I - it's so hard to find it in France. I remember seeing it when it was released. Always kept it in mind. Its green image, its trout fishing, Withnail's commitment towards his Art... his strange grin when "I" is given a great opportunity in the end... that cop's voice...

John Boorman pictures, in a row (not the whole of them) - to see how he used color for the purpose of his films (Point Blank, The General, Excalibur, Leo the Last, The Tailor of Panama, Deliverance)

And Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, please
