Where I'm from it's always interesting to see the Academic-Noise/Experimental scene mixing with the Punk/Self-Taught-Noise/Experimental scene. So many disapproving looks, so much cynicism for people who are pretty much playing the same kind of thing.
I reakon at some level the punks are afraid of the academics with the 'chops' and the academics are afraid of the punks cos theyre speaking a language that they don't understand.
It's all music, the best players can just absorb what theyre hearing, absorb it within themselves and then spit out something new, either a new twist or something completely unique.
