The largest oceanic current in the world is the Circum-antarctic current, which as its name suggests, circles the Antarctic continent. It transports over 100 times the flow of all the rivers of the world COMBINED - 130 million cubic meters of of water per second (144.5 million tons per second). This huge current (actually just a part of the circum-polar circulation system, which mixes water from the world's oceans: Atlantic, Pacific, Indian) is very poorly understood, as are its influences upon the world's climate.
