The coast around Houston and Galveston is some of the ugliest I've ever seen anyway. The place could use more good scrubbings.
I've always heard New Orleans referred to as the end of the sewer pipe, the butt of the Mississsippi, but Houston/Galveston would give that a run for its money.
I agree with alot of what Cantankerous says. More culling is needed.
And, even if thousands were killed, I haven't noticed any less traffic around. Didn't notice any less even after the millions were wiped out in Myanmar.
