Well, precisely. And you're right about the ellipses, that's just my disliking of Jack Kerouac. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but there's a lot of so-called educated people in England who treat language like a museum object, who'll complete dismiss 1337 but are too guilty to apply the same logic to Patois, and will happily criticise, say, a North Yorkshire dialect.
