I wouldn't deny that Rick Rubin has produced some great albums, but given the amount of dross he's over-seen, I do wonder about his enormous reputation. I actually think a large part of it is in his appearance. He looks like the real deal. You see a photo and think, yeah, this guy eats Harley tyres for breakfast. Cool.
