Cheers.
The Bluecoat Arts Centre reopened yesterday, in Liverpool, after three years major reevelopment. The whole thing is a success, in my opinion, and there was a re-opening ceremony where everyone heped cut the ribbon, and a day of free events.
The best two were a percussionist called Joby Burgess (did a really beautiful piece using drumsticks and plantpots), and PHILLIP JECK. PHILLIP JECK gets capital letters because he was so very very good. About forty of us, crammed into a little room, were spellbound for forty minutes of skilfull brilliance. Speaking to him afterwards, he came across as a really nice, unassuming man.
