I collect records and mid-century modern furniture. And the occasional View-Master reel.
I used to collect toys, but they kind of took over my house and the cluttered feeling sort of negated the joy I got from being able to make Simsons figures talk to each other or marveling at the detail of how the hooks went into the face of a Clive Barker "Tortured Soul" figure just so.
Same for underground comix. I classify myself as a "consumer" of these rather than a "kollektor," because I really only have the patience to take good care of my LPs and I don't really want to put that kind of retentiveness into something like comic books. My actions make the collections of TRVE KVLT KOMIX KOLLEKTORS more valuable anyway, so they should be grateful for my blasphemies.
