I can sympathize with that completely, except my hair goes curlier the shorter it goes, so in most cases, my hair generally resembles a Don King chia pet. If I straighten it, I get helmethead.
I like it the length it is. Short enough to be practical in the summer, long enough so that you still have something to experiment with. Don't ever dye your hair, you have fantastic color.
