I just shaved my beard off and left the sideburns...I look like a total douche.
It's hit or miss with facial hair...some people look stupid to me with their chosen face fungus, some look ok.
I generally hate the 'mangina' look - you know, where there's the mustache connected to the goatee - that's the 'everyman' facial hair of choice these days.
Soul patches are pretty bad too...I saw a doctor once who had one, just horridly overgrown and sticking straight up, but he was all clean cut otherwise, and looked like a fool.
