No one ever seems to point out how horrible and frightening it is for someone come out and speak about this stuff. Confronting the one who abused you is not fun, easy, or done lightheartedly. Part of why so many victims stay quiet is because of the omnipresent shame and degradation they feel they will receive when they tell the world that so-and-so abused them sexually. The victims are the ones that get run through the wringer, not the accused.
