State Of The Union Address
is tonight at 9 pm EST.
Anybody have any good drinking games, particularly any that can be played alone? Hopefully, it will be as good as this classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9o3QWUVWWw |

I am a political junkie. I love politics and the ins and outs and th rituals and everything. I vote every election,a nd I exhort my fellows to vote as well, and I never miss any big political speech or event, but after having seen every state of the union address since 1980, I cannot watch dubya's speeches. I cannot sit and listen to his fucked up ignorant diction, his DT's. his stupid fucking amnnerisms and his verbal diarrhea. it is horrid to sit through.
Instead I will be watching "La Fea Mas Bella" on Univision. ![]() |
I dont think i'm going to really comprehend just how much the world has become fucked up since GWB came to power until he goes.

just watch a news report from iraq and it will become painfully obvious. |
I think its one of those things that you become so entrenched in that it takes its abscence to remind you how awful it really is. Thats assuming things will get better, and its a big assumption.
|
yeah i doubt things will be better soon. how the hell did that guy get into such a possition of power? i mean didnt you realise he was mentaly unwell? didnt they do a roll call at the drying out clinic?

an excerpt from today's Guardian
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlates...365854,00.html ...President Bush is calling for Americans to slash gasoline consumption by up to 20 percent by 2017. Bush envisions the goal being achieved primarily through a sharp escalation in the amount of ethanol and other alternative fuels that the federal government mandates must be produced...Though some argue that such a drastic increase is unrealistic...The other piece of Bush's energy proposal is something he has unsuccessfully asked Congress for in the past - the ability to rewrite mileage rules for new car fleets. The White House calls it a safe way to improve car mileage, but some critics suggest that it could instead spur automakers to produce more gas guzzlers... With debate over the Iraq war sending Republicans scurrying away from the president and his job approval rating hovering in the mid-30 percent range, Bush's overall agenda for the speech was twofold: present himself to the public as a leader with a sincere desire to work across party lines on practical solutions and place pressure on Democratic leaders to either go along or offer alternatives. _________________ ![]() |

Man, there is no way that was real. It was edited wasnt it? I can hear the points where they cut the audio and paste it to another sentence. But still, I have to say, it's all true. |
