People Who Never Post

There are loads of people on this board who just never post. I made a couple of threads for people like this and they didn't even post on that. Why do they even log in?

jon boy 07.30.2006 08:40 AM

voyuers.

Iain 07.30.2006 09:13 AM

Well, I think I am logged in automatically whether I am looking at the board or not. So when my computer is on I'll be logged in...which a lot of the time.

RdTv 07.30.2006 09:17 AM

I think lurker is talking about people who NEVER post, they have been registered since the new board was active have posted maybe 5 or 6 times.

Toilet & Bowels 07.30.2006 09:19 AM

they probably log in to look at the sharing section

porkmarras 07.30.2006 03:22 PM

They're real fans of Sonic Youth.

jon boy 07.30.2006 03:55 PM

they probably do just come here to get music and whatnot. they should be glad that they dont get involved in this pile of shit.

michael71 07.30.2006 04:38 PM

Some people are happy just to visit forums without getting involved in the message board side of things. Seems perfectly understandable to me.

One man's meat is another man's poison.

They send private messages to each other all day long. And they have their own secret section of the forum, but you need a special download before it appears. They monitor the rest of us, though, and talk about us in 'The Secret Place'. They worry me.

We don't talk about you. Never. I can't say to much about it. But Top of the Pops getting axed wasn't a 'mistake', if you know what I mean...

You seem to know a lot about this. Are you one of THEM!:p

Hip Priest 07.30.2006 04:48 PM

I understand that you have to say that. If you really aren't interested, then who was it who followed me to Sainsbury's on Wednesday and bought exactly the same loaf of bread as me? And then tried to swap mine with his while I wasn't looking? Was that you?

And why have they put that little electronic thing above my front door? And why does it have to go 'beep' every now and again? Always just after I've spoken? When I use the word 'water' it beeps twice.

No, honestly, this is the first time I've noticed you posting here. I don't quite know when you got so many posts to be honest. Still, best of luck with that paranoia thing.

You know full well that it's because the people at 'The Secret Place' have put my number of posts up artificially, to discredit me by making it look like I'm a weirdo who has nothing better to do than spout nonsense on the internet, because they knew that I knew, and they knew that one day I'd tell.

Are these people also altering your mind so you can't spell 'discredit'?

Savage Clone 07.30.2006 04:55 PM

No, he's just not very bright.

I've just fixed that! They have glitched my forum membership so that spelling mistakes occur, but I go back and correct them, because I'm too smart for them.

Hip Priest 07.30.2006 04:59 PM

A man in a black suit, black shirt and tie, wearing black shoes and a black hat just called at my door. I now wish to make the following statement:

The people who never post are just normal members of the community who so far have found no thread in which they wish to comment. They may well post in the future. I fully accept that nothing sinister is afoot.

I have no further comment to make on the subject.

Why do people insist on using the punctuation for imperatives when posting an interrogative?

I do that very often to annoy pedants! It's quite difficult to do though, because it's very, very irritating! Don't you think!

Glice 07.30.2006 05:03 PM

Or perhaps you're bemoaning the relative unpopularity of the interrobang?

Savage Clone 07.30.2006 05:10 PM

I think the word "Interrobang" is incredibly hilarious, and usually makes me think of some kind of perverse good cop/bad cop threeway roleplay scenario involving stern language, a wooden chair and a single bare light bulb in a dank room of some kind.

atari 2600 07.30.2006 05:12 PM

This topic is just another one Lurker started after his shout out here failed to yield reply posts quick enough for his liking.

Same with my old board over at LZ.com

There's over 12-13,000 registered members...and maybe 300 post. Of that....I'd say less than 100 are regulars.

I post in spurts. I read mostly, PM quite a bit....and just enjoy being around, whether I feel anything to say or not. I'm really unknown here..and don't feel I have much to say in many threads....I just don't know the people enough to feel like I'd be recognized. So it is.......

I like to post pictures though...but then, I get discouraged when they get buried and not remarked about much.....plus I have this miserably slow dialup..and that prevents me from jumping into quick response in many fast moving threads....

Fly on the wall

defcon4 07.31.2006 01:50 PM

As one whose number of posts is creeping gradually toward 100 (I hope to get there by the end of the calendar year) I rarely find anything worth replying to and I wouldn't want to get involved in the debate over whether HaydenAsche is a douchebag. I'm just not sure either way. I'm also not excited enough about Rather Ripped to either defend it or beat up on it. Plus the Secret Society of Sonic Youth Fans board is much more fulfilling.

HaydenAsche 07.31.2006 02:18 PM

I'm sorry guys. I'm sure you're talking about folks like porkie, cantankerbitch, and myself.

screamingskull 07.31.2006 02:23 PM

theres someone called Screaming Skull, she has only ever posted twice though. she better not make it a habbit, ive had this name for over a year and a half now.
