Seen Any Good Movies Lately?
I mean new movies. In the theater.
I saw The Da Vinci Code about a week ago. Terrible. Thinking about seeing the X-Men movie, but I'm pretty sure it'll suck too. Has anybody seen a good movie in the theater lately? |
Psssh....I haven't even seen a movie in the theatre since Revenge of the Sith. There really hasn't been anything lately that has made me really say, "fuck yeah, I'm going to this for sure." I am anxiously awaiting the Reno 911 movie though. I heard X-Men 3 kind of sucked.
|
I liked Silent Hill. Lot of people didn't, though.
|
Movies coming out soon that might be good:
A Prarie Home Companion. I like Robert Altman. I also like Lindsay Lohan, but in a different way. Nacho Libre. I don't know, Napoleon Dynamite was sort of funny. Might be a good popcorn movie. ![]() Wordplay. A documentary about the New York Times crossword puzzle. Mmmmm. The Road to Guantanamo. Documentary partly directed by Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party People). Guess what it's about. The Great New Wonderful. Sounds OK. Maybe. I like Jim Gaffigan and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Strangers With Candy. Feature length prequel to the TV show. Doesn't matter if it really blows, I'll probably see it. |
Yeah Wordplay looks interesting for some reason. Nacho Libre might be funny because Jack Black is nuts.....I liked The School of Rock. I thought it was really "cute."

I haven't gone to the pictures recently but I did watch the abyss last night for the first time. Brilliant film I thought.
|
i went to see X Men last week, it was okay not as good as the first 2 though. i would love to go and see Brick, its the second film by the guy that made Donnie Darko.
|
A friend went to see that (Brick) he said it was ok. Not bad but ok he said the main character seemed to be trying to be humphrey bogart too much.
Don't think i'll see it. Not through choice mind it's just that our local cinmeas only focus on the "blockbuster". *pulls angry face* |
not in the cinema but
gummo dead man videodrome cube the dekalog |
Today I saw BILOXI BLUES and BRAINSTORM.
|
oh yeah, i recommend bad boy bubby too, it wanes a bit towards the end but still a really good film
|

Time to give away some reps. I like them all... especially Gummo! |
I will be boycotting X-Men 3. You know...for moral reasons. Mainly, Gambit isn't in it. The evil bastards.
Three movies and all they can swing is his name on a computer screen. |
I rented Transamerica. It was fab.
|
I really enjoyed A History of Violence.
William Hurt plays a real sick character! |

Yeah,
seen a Czech movie recently, it's called "Happiness". It's terribly sad, but leaves traces in you. A strong one. |

i saw the exorcist III again the other day, apart from the dubious ending its a really good film.
|
Prediction:
Snakes On A Plane is going to be exactly 57 times better than Clerks II. |

I was really let down by this movie. There was almost no plot and they did leave out Gambit. They also messed up so many things. Juggernaut isn't a mutant so he shouldn't have been affected by that kid's powers, Colossus is Russian, and Cyclops and Jean have to get married. In addition to this, the special effects sucked ass. If you're going to make a movie with a dull plot, with almost nothing but action scenes then you should at least have good special effects. Seriously, I always thought the special effects for these movies sucked. Maybe their budget wasn't so good. They could have done some kick-ass stuff with Storm or some sentinels. |
well for the purpose of a causual move goer, they wouldn't understand the whole crystal of cytorak backstory
they did also mess with some of the power of the evil mutants, like Callisto who in the movie speeds around like Quicksilver, and Kid Omega who has the powers of the mutant Quill and for explanation, i hardly ever read the comics, but i read much wiki lately |
Watched The Fearless Freaks by Bradley Beesley last night.
Brilliant documentary/film. Didn't know much about the wondrously improbable story of the Lips. Gonna get so cd's soon. |
Saw united 93 last night. It was a pretty harrowing film and tastefully done. Mea nd my friend walked out at the end of the film and nobody was saying anything to each which was pretty strange.
|
i saw the xmen 3 like a week ago. it was ok,nothing special
|
I watched Kill Bill 2 while working out today:D....I've only seen the first one.
|
A History Of Violence disseminates violence and brings its mysticism to a halt; exposing it for its ugly, petulant truth, all the while introducing characters as creepy as any in a late-night crime drama. Everyone dies here who deserves to. Great movie.
|
Donnie Darko awesome film.
|
oh yeah i saw the exorcism of emily rose a week ago and it wasa good movie
|
WILD ZERO!
![]() I was just watching it today. A japanese zombie movie featuring the band Guitar Wolf who play themselves, or more accurately superhero, gun expert versions of themselves. Download it, you won;t be sorry http://tracker.zaerc.com/torrents-details.php?id=6292 ![]() |
Wild Zero...now that is one hell of a movie.
|
Wow, that looks like one of those movies that is either one of the worst movies ever made, or one of the coolest. Apparently its the latter, and I've got to see it at some point.
|
I think my favorite part of that movie is this line:
"Love has no borders, nationalities, or genders!" Gold. |
