Who's going to go see them?
I am fo sho. |
Let us all shit our pants, now.
|
meh i wouldnt go if i was in the US. something about older reunion bands doesnt quite do it for me. one show, two maybe, but that should be all, not trying to make more money and revive the name.
whatever i just said... |
No your parents will buy all the tickets first.

I'm feeling ill.

I saw bits of the London show on the 8 o'clock news last night and had to cringe. Terrible mistake.

And here I would've figured you had good control of your gag reflex. |
It's freezing cold and that gig got enthusiastic reviews. I want to die.

dude, the old farts that paid thousands to see led zepplein re-unite for what is like the 5th time probably have not gone to a rock show in over 20 years. led zeppelin proabbly rocked their geriatric colons clean.
ha ha! I mean, shit, John Bonham's son is 42!!!! |

Well, they are certainly not going to sound like they did on past tours, after all, there is no John, just son Jason, but I'm sure it isn't all that horrible. It doesn't seem all that fair to judge the entire show by a sound byte. Dave Grohl offered to be their drummer if they do tour. Led Zep fans call for world tour 4 hours ago Led Zeppelin fans are clamouring for the band to announce a world tour following Monday night's triumphant comeback gig. Guitarist Jimmy Page has already indicated that he would like to play more shows, but singer Robert Plant has so far appeared reluctant to commit. On the band's official website, fans urged Plant to rethink. "If the crowd response didn't convince Robert then nothing will," one wrote of the show at the O2 Centre in London. "Led Zep owe us a tour. Robert needs to start thinking about all the fans who love them," said another, while a third wrote: "I hope they will. There are so many of us who missed out on tickets for a concert we'd imagined for nearly three decades." But others said fans should be content with the one-off show. "You should be grateful that Zeppelin have given the fans so much already, and that they are able and willing to do one more show at their age," one said. The band are now taking stock and deciding whether to announce a full-blown tour. "Nothing is set at the moment because their energies were concentrated 100%t on the gig. But a tour has certainly not been ruled out and Jimmy has said it would be a shame not to do more," an insider said. Twenty million people crashed the website when details of the gig were announced. A lucky 10,000 got tickets for the show, the band's first full set in 27 years. The three surviving members - Page, Plant and John Paul Jones - were joined by late drummer John Bonham's son, Jason. The charity event was held in memory of former Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun, who signed Led Zeppelin. http://ukpress.google.com/article/AL...jMt2gd1Lj7eAgg ___________________ Most probably, Led Zeppelin isn't going to be embarking on any world tour, because Plant is already scheduled to tour with Alison Krauss and Union Station. |

You can say that again. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=FiL1sjGIcew Like I said before, I have a bad feeling about this. |
once in a lifetime, people. i was still in my crib first time around - i don't care how good/bad they are now, i would still see it if i had the chance. they are one of the legendary bands of our time - i try to see any and all legends that i can.
i just saw van halen with DLR - i'm sure the show wasn't the spectacle it was in the '80s when i wasn't allowed to go, but i still marvelled at how talented the members of the band are at their age. i can't think of a better way to spend your golden years than on stage rocking out. more power to all these people. fuck the haters. |
tix for the Van Halen reunion show in Houston sold out in less than 90 minutes
|
I don't see the point in paying hundreds/thousands of dollars to see a band simply because they're "legendary". Especially when you know it's a gamble.
|
I like shows that don't require a high-powered telescope for viewing.
|
I hope they are still worshipping satan

I don't see how posting a picture of what Robert Plant and Jimmy Page look like now is a valid argument.
Look at Gang of Four. Those guys are all pretty old and the Gang of Four reunion fucking ruled. I saw some of the videos of the show the other night. They sounded pretty good. As good as you can on a pirated youtube video really. They are the greatest classic rock band ever. They could have had 10 reunion tours by now and sold out every show. Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, and the Who do that. But Led Zeppelin never overstayed their welcome. I think they have higher standards. And if they tour again, I think it would be because they are ready to rock the shit out of everyone once again. If the ticket prices are fucking ridiculous I'm not gonna see them though. |

Jimmy Page is into some weird shit for sure. He own's or owned alistair crowley's house, and once owned an occultist book store. |
I'm not a fan.
|
I hope they crawl back into the grave where they came from. where satan sells cadilac escalades to their licks...

What is this, like 1975 or something? Are we trapped in an episode of That 70s Show? |
fuck no.
|
speaking of that 70s show, being trapped in 75 etc.
i would go see laser floyd before i went and saw zeppelin at this point in time. |

Whatever you say, Fez. Hey, Kelso, go get more beer from Red's garage. |

I would go see the Stones before I saw anyone. This was the year of the great TOTA. |
I would go see the 1980 Luv Ya Blue Oilers with Earl Campbell and Bum Phillips
|
Just to get myself flamed - isn't Sonic Youth an '80s band? Not a whole hell of a lot younger than the '70s bands if we're just rippin' on what decade they came out of. Maybe Gilmore Girls will reunite so Led Zep can make an appearance there. That said you can download the show at the dime and hate it all you want for free. Just went up last night.

might pay 100, definitely not thousands, but i wouldn't be going "simply" because they're legendary, but also because they're awesome. there isn't a person on this board who doesn't know at least 10 zeppelin songs, even if they don't know that they do. and they probably know words to songs they didn't know they did. why? because the songs are fuckin' catchy. and good. and memorable. and every show you go to is a gamble - prince was one of the worst shows i ever saw. then he ruled the next time i saw him. |
I would probably pay $100, no more than that. This just doesn't excite or seem like a big deal to me, like it seems to a lot people out there. There are so many other bands I'd rather see than Led Zeppelin. Maybe if I was 14 and this was 1983.

That's ridiculous. I wish I could sell my Led Zeppelin vinyl for that much.
|
The live shows from before they started doing Stairway are fantastic (i.e 68-69)- as one trader friend once said this is some serious punk rock. Dazed and Confused is an amazing song. Sadly their body of work has been reduced by the Spectacle to Stairway and Moby Dick.
to have been 21 in 1975 with a hit of windowpane and a Zep ticket |
hey hey mama say the way you moo make me wanna steak make me shate your grew...
