Rather Ripped Poll
Most of us have heard the album thanks to the gracious SY for streaming it for us. What is the stand-out track for you? I can't include them all, hence the OTHER selection.
|
If other, please list below.
|
Tough choice between Pink Steam, Reena, and Rats. I must choose the most former.
|
I voted "Rats". Lee had 1 song on this whole album, & hit a fucking grand slam w/ this song.

Indeed he did. And as uncoventional as it is (though great) I still have to go with Pink Steam. It's like RoT in reverse. |
I'll say it again, my favorite song off "Rather Ripped" is, the entire fucking album. A *** rating.
|
Props to the Reena voter. That's so close to my favorite, but see above. ^

WHAT YOU SAID! LOVE THE WHOOOOLE ALBUM! but then again i voted for "OR" cant get enough of that song . |

That's the correct answer, and wins star prize! The best track on Rather Ripped is indeed 'Pink Steam'. Although 'SLeeping Around' comes close. |
& inclusion to being one of the best tracks on the album, "Pink Steam" is also the longest track on the album.
|
i´ve listened to it now.
my favs are rats, incinerate, reena, lights out,or, but the most beautiful song is pink steam. EDIT: "what a waste" is awesome too |
Lights Out!
|
Incinerate, Pink Steam and Sleeping Around...
i don't know most of the other songs...i haven't heard the album yet |
reena
|
reena is awesome. so is Or and the neutral.
|
Rats is amazing but so is pink steam, the neutral, reena, jams run free and what a waste. I haven't listend to or enough yet to make a good decision on it though (i'm thinking it's good).
|
I really like neutral
|
i think it's funny how they chose to do "what a waste" on gilmore girls and it's like the crappiest song on the album. they should have done "jams run free"
|
You keep me coming home again......
It was weird listening to RR like this for the first time, but whatever I guess. |
it's not on the album but it's a poll option under other - Helen Lundeberg of course... shits all over the whole of Rather Ripped...
|
Tough one, it changes every day but Pink Steam is outstanding.
|
Pink Steam, with Reena & Incinerate tied for second.
|
I like Jams run free, what a waste, and Reena
|
i havnt heard the album yet, Im waiting. I heard the paris versions and like
![]() I cant judge untill i hear the album, on the official release. |
I'm having a hard time can you add a few more multiple choice?
|

10 is the max, or I would have. |
Kim's songs. Jams Run Free especially.
|
yes, reena is wonderful and so is pink steam.
i can't wait to have the CD in my hands |
I only decided to listen to the first five songs, in order not to crush my dreams completely.
I wasn't too impressed, to be honest, except for Do you believe in rapture which I'm liking at the moment. I had my doubts about this album since the first versions of the songs. It's not bad but can't bear comparison to a lot of their other albums. |
I have to agree this album, as to me it is obviously lyrically weak, but musically its very good and direct... though its abit too one-dimensional throughout (Rats is the one song that sounds quite different than the rest since Thurston is playing bass), but some of the bad lyrics on this are troubling:
what a waste you're so chaste i can't wait to taste your face ???what???why??? sleepin' around all over town what will the neighbors say huh??? who cares what the neighbors say??? they've done better... don't get me wrong i still love this band but it would've been nice if the helen lundeburg/eyeliner 7" is what this album was really like. |
to me it is hard to choose between Pink Steam and What A Waste....
I like Kim on this album, she really can sing!!! |

Go for one more...Pink Steam. One of the best "guitar songs" in the latest SY era, IMO. |
I've had Lights Out in my head all day today
