Anyone for a virtual pinball tournament?

Does anybody wanna have a Starksy & Hutch (I know, silly movie) pinball tournament?

http://starskyandhutchmovie.warnerbros.com/pinball/

It is by far the best free online pinball game on the internet. It plays pretty close to a real machine. It's very addictive. I'm a bit burned-out on it now, but I was playing it a few times every day for a good while since I discovered the page a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I got 73 million
good luck beating my score
(yeah, that's a challenge)

(the game doesn't actually record & keep track of high scores as you will se if you play it)

You can play against other people in real time?

I could be in, I'm feeling quite pissy and anti-social this evening.

atari 2600 04.21.2006 07:58 PM

naw, you just gotta play & then post your high scores from screenshots here. Essentially, I just wanted to brag about my high score.

Read the rules section to get a feel of how to play the "machine". You may need to turn off your sticky keys. You'll see what I mean. I actually switched to a better keyboard I had around & now have no problems.

There's jackpots, extra balls, multi-ball, sound effects... all that..

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:02 PM

I'll give it a try.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:04 PM

I have a laptop, and can barely type on it as it is.

I want to play a game with some BLOODSHED.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:06 PM

I lost the fuckin ball already.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:10 PM

Oh my god, I think I'm addicted.

I only scored 1,300,000 though.

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:14 PM

I straight-up suck at this pinball game.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:15 PM

I have to confess, I have played Yahoo pool with people for four hours straight.

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:20 PM

I used to play Yahoo scrabble online for hours.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:26 PM

Ooh, do you mean Literati? I fucking LOVE that game!

Yes, and I challenge you or anyone else to a game of Literati.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:28 PM

Anytime, bitch.

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:30 PM

my name is noumenal3 - I'm in the Mysterious Malapropisms room. Table 72.

atari 2600 04.21.2006 08:30 PM

I love some Scrabble.

The physics on this pinball game are great. This UK games site http://www.free-game.co.uk/activity....e=cat&cat_id=9 also has the game for when this promotional warner brothers page goes down. In my experience, if you can start getting 10 million or better, then you're starting to get the hang of it. I was able to get that freak score only because I got Bonus x5 & Hold Bonus from the Urban Informant on the same ball, so everytime I lost a ball, I was getting over 10 million in bonus points.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:33 PM

That game was eerily realistic. I still sucked though.

Noumenal, I'm there, for a few minutes at least - then I'm actually venturing outside for a bit. If I decide I can handle it.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:34 PM

Bear with me, I haven't gone on Yahoo in ages - I forget how to find my way around 'n stuff.

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:35 PM

Tell me your screenname and I can invite you.

atari 2600 04.21.2006 08:36 PM

I've never played Literati.

"eerily realistic"
-yeah I've seen the ball jump over the flipper when it was moving too fast many times & one time a ball got "stuck" on the ramp much like what happens once in a blue moon on a real machine.
You've got to play it a few times to get a sense of how to make the shots you need to make & when to bump the machine. Like when you're losing the ball on a side chute & the kickbacks are not lit. You can bump the machine as much as you want & it never tilts.

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:37 PM

It's good times Atari.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:37 PM

Dear god atari

YOU of all people would fucking ADORE it, you should come play

I am mysisterisafloozy

truncated 04.21.2006 08:38 PM

Those rooms are full, noumenal

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:39 PM

hold on

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:41 PM

did you get my invite?

I have a new public table at Social-->Mysterious Malapropisms--> Table 72

truncated 04.21.2006 08:47 PM

No, I didn't get the invite...I know I'm a techie retard, but where does this invite come from? Where do I find it?

noumenal 04.21.2006 08:50 PM

You didn't get the invite because you're not logged in the same game room as me. Try this:

Click on "Beginner" under "List of Game Rooms" and then on "Interlocution". I'll be in there. If I see you in there, I'll make a game.

Edit: Allright. Nevermind. Some other time.

truncated 04.21.2006 08:58 PM

Sorry...I have to go out now anyhow. Thanks for trying.

atari 2600 05.02.2006 03:10 PM

I beat my old score by 100 million or so.

atari 2600 05.02.2006 04:43 PM

I think nearly seven million is better than I did the first time (if that was your first time playing) that I played.
In that last high score I only scored about 50 million of the points & all the rest were bonuses that I earned by playing the machine for score maximization. I can explain how this is done if anyone wants an elaboration; the "Rules" section also gives one a good idea how to optimally proceed to play the game. Two of the five balls were complete duds & gone in a flash. I had a bunch (over 20 I would guess) Jackpots, but I only had Crime Spree once that game. I earned only two extra balls the whole game, both of which I acquired on ball one; I scored a little over 20 million on ball one, but with all the end bonuses it totaled out at about 42 million. I did get multi-ball twice, which was cool. That was the first time I've done that. During the vast majority of the times that I've played, I haven't been awarded even one multi-ball session. It's overrated anyway, because one usually loses one of the balls pretty quickly.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 06.09.2006 11:09 AM

i got 40,000,000 but cant print the screen. Im using a mac labtop.

Trasher02 06.09.2006 11:31 AM

I got 7,841,048,666 but my computer crashed

king_buzzo 06.09.2006 11:46 AM

1 got 0ne mill 400

edit: wtf? it said on the board that i got 3 mill but then when it goes to the high score it says that its only 1 mill?

johnnywinternoshow 06.09.2006 11:54 AM

Is it just me or does the ball go down the side bits where you can't use the flippers waaaay too often?

SolidZach 06.09.2006 11:57 AM

johnnywinternoshow 06.09.2006 11:58 AM

i hope that's photoshopped

atari 2600 06.09.2006 12:00 PM

c'mon...some competition will make me get back into that game.

atari 2600 06.09.2006 12:04 PM
