how has the computer internet effected you?

How has the computer /internet helped your life?
How has the internet/computer screwed up your life?

You wouldn't believe what passed for porn in the late-90s.

shabbray2.0 03.01.2010 05:40 PM

its saving my ass right now, cause I am not at home, but pretty alone. and at least I can listen to music and dive around here. so big ups

the original pincho 03.01.2010 05:50 PM

I didn't have alot of fun in the late nineties. That is besides the point. I just posted this thread cuz I don't think I have made the most of the comp/internet, yet I remember when it didhn't exist and people just got together and partied alot. I guess I am still kind of let down by it all.

atsonicpark 03.01.2010 05:53 PM

if you rely on others for entertainment, or take what people say seriously, the internet is the worst place ever.

I have never "met" my best friend of 9 years.

although that makes me sad, the trade-off is never having known her at all.

ermmm I read this thread incorrectly.. I started with 'what other kind of internet is there?' /... but now I understand..

the computer internet has affected me greatly. It has provided hours and hours of distraction when I'd rather be somewhere else. It has helped me find out lots about new film/music/art/'stuff'/^^ yes porn too, that I otherwise might not have known about. People. Definately people. Over a period of uh, 10 yrs? I've met probably 10 to 15 people IRL who I've known online first.. probably more if I really sat down and counted. It's usually pretty rad to meet internet people. There have been a few nutjobs but mostly people online are just normal people irl.. If you've known them for a while the crazy risk factor goes down somewhat. If I took all of those people out of my life.. there would be a LOT of memories missing. I nearly moved countries for one of them.

flo slo san.. does not count as internet to me.. He is just bestie in another country who I have not seen since the last lifetime.

Not sure about negatively... maybe some time wasting..? There have been some fucking retards and abusive people.. but, you can always just turn it off.

It's great for killing time until something a bit more interesting crops up.

I learned that there was a difference between Mary, merry and marry. :o

Pookie 03.02.2010 09:41 AM

I learned that an acceptable alternative to "thank you very much" is "spank your hairy crotch".

demonrail666 03.02.2010 11:41 AM

Phlegmscope 03.02.2010 11:54 AM

It has kept me inside four walls effectively for the past 11 years.
