floatingslowly 03.10.2010 10:42 AM

you can't really walk in okc. it's one of the largest cities (area-wise) in the US and everything is spread out. we don't have much traffic, but you can drive for an hour (again.. sans traffic) and still be in city limits.

no but they have big houses. for the average american family just walking from their front door to their car(s) can often be a longer journey than most Europeans would make walking to work. I know a number of American's whose houses are roughly the size of Leeds.

knox 03.10.2010 10:56 AM

well, where i am from, you can drive for godknows 5 hours and still be in the city? that is another reason why i dont drive. i'd rather live in tiny flats and never have to drive, it doesn't bother me, i'm small.

also, that way my personal carbon footprint account will allow me to fly often, which is what i really enjoy doing.

i assume you can't walk to work or the store there either then, huh?

floatingslowly 03.10.2010 11:02 AM

I'd find a way to drive my house to work, if there wasn't such a stigma over mobile homes. :o

no, i walk anywhere.
public transport ONLY if it's a must.
god knows i hate the smell of armpits and cheetos.

Pookie 03.10.2010 11:31 AM

And it's about 80 minutes from here to Avebury, the biggest henge monument in Britain.

It'd take me 1.5 hours to walk to my dads to pick up typing down a major hwy. So 3 hours round trip and certain death. For my other job I drive around making sales calls all day. I'd be able toake 2 calls and look like shit. We are also one of the windiest places in the world.I'm guessing I'm gonna leave a big carbon foot print. Otherwise I'm not going to be able to fit in my 70 hour work week.

girlgun 03.10.2010 11:43 AM

I walk to the bar though when the roads are bad! Last time was hard. 14 inches of snow uphill. Ugh.

or might replace that with kebab and socks.

floatingslowly 03.10.2010 11:51 AM

I'd walk everywhere, if my heated leather seats came too.

heated leather seats? you know how that sounds, yeah?
yeah you do.

Pookie 03.10.2010 12:09 PM

And less than 6 hours to Hadrian's Wall.

floatingslowly 03.10.2010 12:50 PM

if I were a barbarian (and I am), I'd have no trouble getting over that puny thing.

it can't be any more difficult than scaling the starplex amphitheater in Dallas, in order to score hot older women, who actually paid to see Rod Stewart.

:o

girlgun 03.10.2010 01:32 PM

So if someone spent 6 nights in uk, what would be the not to miss things? I've not been there in 30 years. Haha. Would it be dumb to book same hotel every night or do we need to move around more?
