i was nervous if listening to the montage would reveal too much about the album's sound, but it treaded carefully away from doing that. : )

i listened to it once and filed it away. while i think it's a cool idea, the last thing i want to do is hear a rapidfire snapshot of every chorus from the album (i'm not sure if that's exactly what it was, but i sure heard a lot of titles). i look forward to hearing it in its entirety too much to spoil it with overindulgance of tiny portions now.

This is kind of a FAIL. Got my preorder this morning at amoeba music hollywood.
I guess I should have read the fine print... cause I assumed the "buy now get early" meant that I would be able to listen to the record now.... But it really means.... I'll get to listen to in a month (April 28th.) Dumb.

On a side now...this record is fucking expensive. $39.98 for the LP.

Only $10. Wow. That's a great price. CDs here are bloody expensive. I usually go to the used/new CD store, great prices there. ANYWAY, yeah I'm shocked at that price, I'll go to a store here and see it for over $20.

No problem there - I ordered the previous BEGN (Pavement) from Matador directly, and shipping to Europe for the deluxe 2CD + live LP was very reasonable.

Yeah, but the main problem are the import duties that add up to the whole thing.

True - I didn't have to pay anything extra, but I think Dutch customs only charge import duties and/or VAT above a declared value of 25 euros (or something like that).

For now I think you'll can subscribe on 28th April, then you'll get the stream. The physical copy comes to you in june. Until there you'll get some nice exclusive mp3s from begn site.

Drove a two hour roundtrip to pre-order the vinyl and the goddamn store isn't even set up for BEGN. Even though they ARE listed as participating on the site. Major pissed.
