Well it's fun to speculate!... nothing is ever written in stone.

Dirty Three live, are amazing the sound is broader and when it expands its really powerful, its pretty awe inspiring how in synch they are with each other, if you get the chance make sure you go , and Warren Ellis is really funny he gives these meandering introductions to the songs like 'this ones about finding yourself in a hole, and you stay there for awhile, but sooner or later the walls start to close in cause the good lord never meant anyone to know themselves that well and you look up and theres an angel in the sky who helps you out but with nothing to do you go and buy some crack get yourself in a right state till one day its just you on a beach with the ripples in the sand and the water and a headache' only his are funny

porkmarras 06.25.2006 04:50 PM

I didn't put on the fall etc.I'll be damned with these lists..................like i care.

The The -mind bomb.Good to see that it's not only me who likes that record.
What do you think of Dusk? 'Slow emotion replay' is an excellent song.

porkmarras 06.26.2006 05:27 AM

I mainly got into them because Johnny Marr played on both 'Mind Bomb' and 'Dusk'.When they were good they could be really good but when they were shite there was no stopping them(or him,Matt Johnson).

Glice 06.26.2006 06:43 AM

I can't stand Electronic mind... but they weren't as bad as Monaco... dear God they were dire.

It's all about Urusei Yatsura, I'm telling you.

Monaco?Ghastly.

Glice 06.26.2006 07:09 AM

I hope my memory hasn't failed me - but didn't every Monaco tune sound like the theme to the Grand Prix? Only shitter?

porkmarras 06.26.2006 07:32 AM

Wasn't 'What do you want from me' THE THEME to the Grand Prix? There must be a good reason for me to have forgotten about it.I'm going through a New Order phase at the moment and 'True Faith' is soundtracking most of my days.Jesus,Glice,Monaco? You are fucking with my brain now.

Found the vinyl in a second-hand record shop a while ago. Bought Cut on CD on the year Island re-released it and instantly felt a bit sad for the Return had a much profound warm sound. I like the artwork too. It suits what's to hear perfectly. Like it a lot.

Yeah, I had the Peel sessions and the first record, so I was a bit surprised by the second record's sound. But it is a mighty fun album. The guy in the record store was trying to stop me from buying it. "You do realise that's a terrible album, right?".

It's a much maligned but very good record.

Slavo has great taste.

Coveted LPs is a good one. For me that would be: NNCK - re: Mr a Fan; Fushitsusha - I saw it! That which before I could only sense...; Janek Schafer (sp?) - Skate (unplayable, but a lovely artefact); All of my ltd editions of one from my musician mates (one day someone I know will be famous and this will be an impressive collection); Urusei Yatsura - We are (orange glitter vinyl); Man or Astroman - Made from Technitium (the first coloured vinyl I bought); Deus - Roses 7" (the first picture disc I bought).

This could go on a while, I'll curtail it here.
