Revolting Cocks (Live) You Goddamn Son Of A Bitch - Wax Trax 1988.
The video's also wicked.

Jeff Buckley - Live at Sin-e

Is indeed amazing.

The live side of Ummagumma

Hell, no mention of Rock 'n Roll Animal yet? Sure, it's nastily edited down to 6 tracks (or 8 on the CD), but that moment when the extended intro crashes into Sweet Jane is simply without equal (in my book, at least...)

this is the best live record ever released, period.

this is another along an entirely different vein,

Ramones "It's Alive" of course, "The Lyers Live-A Long Time Ago", Coltraine "Live in Japan" (I like "Olatunji" as well, although It's almost more noise then signal, if you get my drift), the ? and the Mysterions live LP on Norton, and really, one of my favorite albums ever, the square-crushing "Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club"-Jerry Lee sings and plays like a man possessed, the crowd of german teddyboys seem to be on the verge of a riot, and the band trys to keep up like it's a race. Crazier than Metalic K.O.!

Television - Live at the Old Waldorf

The sound quality on this album is crazy!

atsonicpark 02.27.2008 03:56 PM

every number girl live album.

every sun city girls live album that sounds like it was recorded with something that wasn't a handheld tape recorder..

Its simply amazing to see how he just improvises all this great soloing off the top of his head.

where did you find the cd at?

Burning Spear-Live in Paris Zenith

Savage Clone 02.27.2008 04:46 PM

That Electric Prunes live 1968 Stockholm radio concert album is mindblowing. Better than any of their studio LPs IMO.

I was going to make a thread about this but I managed to find this one, so, bring on your favorites (unless you already have, then obviously do NOT repost in here)

James Brown - Live At The Apollo Volume 2
Hawkwind - Space Ritual
Velvet Underground - Live 1969
Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gypsies
John Coltrane - Live At Antibes
Albert Ayler - Live At Sluggs Saloon Volume 1
The Dead Boys - Night Of The Living Dead Boys
MC5 - Kick Out The Jams
Bob Dylan - Royal Albert Hall concert
Can - Box Music
Portishead - Roseland NYC Live

Death & the Maiden 06.25.2009 01:09 AM

Television - The Blow Up
My favourite Television album.

Ramones - It's Alive
Most people have a hard time choosing the best out of their first three albums. This one is pretty much a best of from their first three.

Malice Mizer - Tetsu's Last Live
This is a bootleg, not an actual album, but it's still my favourite MM album. Tetsu is by far the least popular of MM's three vocalists, and they officially released less than 10 songs with him, so this is my favourite because it pretty much sums up my preferred era of Malice Mizer.

(highly, highly reccomended. Its better than you might think)

(this one is utterly fantastic, no one can hold an audience quite as captive with just his voice and an acousic guitar as Neil Young)
