It sort of does. I usually wear band shirts, so that should give people a vague idea of what I listen to, but when I'm not wearing a band shirt I'm certain that they'll assume I listen to "indie" - Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, The Strokes etc. Though this is probably because of my hair.
