Excellent. Thanks sonicl!

I'll try and get to C93, but I might be in Mexico.
|
I'm tempted to go to Current 93, but it's only a couple of days after Neubauten play in Vienna, and I was thinking of flying out to that so that I could meet up with _slavo_ and a thousand threads.

i hope that's not Om's only london gig.

Notations 2008
7–10pm Thursday 10 & Friday 11 January 2008 FREE Exhibition & live performances of visual scores by over 50 international artists & composers. Different performances each night. The Slade Research Centre, UCL, 10–11 Woburn Square, London WC1H 0NS Nearest tubes: Russell Square / Goodge St / Euston Square / Euston Marking the 40th anniversary of John Cage & Alison Knowles' seminal publication ‘Notations’, the UCL Slade School of Fine Art presents Notations 2008, a range of investigations into what notation is – and can be. For ‘Notations’ (Something Else Press, 1968-9), Cage assembled a collection of music manuscripts benefited to the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts, New York. The archive began to map the changing direction(s) of graphical representation in music practices. Notations 2008 is a creative laboratory providing a platform for leading and emerging artists to negotiate shifting relationships between the visual and the audible. Participants will struggle with accepted notions of composition and performance – at the centre of which lies the seemingly fundamental musical score. Through rigorous exploration this mysterious ‘score–object’ will be elucidated. The event will culminate in performances that are open to the public, with contributions from leading contemporary musicians, including Anton Lukoszevieze from Apartment House and emerging percussion talent Sankorfa. These musicians will be accompanied by a significant body of artists from the UCL Slade School as well as invited performers from across the UK. To Rococo Rot
20 February 2008 Renowned the past 10 years or so for their painstaking attention to detail and their warm analogue sounds, Berlin's To Rococo Rot jumped into new territory last year with abc123. This mini LP, commissioned for Helvetica's 50th birthday celebrations, superimposed the typeface, in alphabetical order, on to digitised musical wave forms. It's just the sort of idea to get ICA ears pricked up, but it's not just a clever-clogs concept – the music sounds brilliant. Come hear for yourself, and find out what they might come up with next. £10 / £9 ICA Members + £1 booking fee per ticket. DateTimeVenue Wednesday 20 February 2008 7:30 pmTheatre (standing) |

Nefeli's going to hate me for posting this one, I suspect:
22 Apr 2008 @ Gramaphone nofun productions / harbinger sound / pan / authorised version: RAMLEH CARLOS GIFFONI CONSUMER ELECTRONICS MLEHST CHEAPMACHINES DIGITARIAT FAMILY BATTLE SNAKE £7 |
^
That show was listed on the Family Battlesnake myspace, but that's the only place that I've seen Ramleh mentioned. Just in case Ramleh aren't playing that show, here's early details of one that they will be playing: Whitehouse + Ramleh (power-electronics set) + Dissention (Chris Corsano/Stefan Jaworzyn duo) + DJs Saturday 4th April, venue TBC. Two of the most influential pioneers of extreme music co-headline a very special London performance. This will be Ramleh's first UK power-electronics set in nearly 20 years! The duo of Ascension's Stefan Jaworzyn and free-drummer Chris Corsano complete the bill. To be honest, to me, that sounds like a bloody terrifying experience. |
