I did listen to it from start to finish, though, and I was honestly more impressed than I thought I would be. I'm sure the critics are right that it will mean nothing to non-fans, but being a fan, I wouldn't know anything about how non fans think, nor would I care if I did.

The reissue experience is always made juicier by the extras (packaging, liner notes, photos) but the songs sound really goddamn good, and I got that little nervous system pins and needles feeling that comes with a new (or "new") Sonic Youth release several times today.

Totally worth it.

Anyone else take advantage of the iTunes version to make your work day less hellish?

The sleeve looks good - but I'm not 100% sure why they used photos from the Continental gig in the notes (maybe I missed something)?

That aside, I was really happy with this - knowing it would be "bootleg" quality, I was bracing for the worst - but this was SO far from my fears, I was really happy with the overall feel. Here's hoping we get more of these - one per tour, please.

Hello, I preordered this CD from you guys because it said it was shipping 11/5. I figured I'd support Midheaven and get it before or on release date (11/13). Well here it is 11/15 and no sign of the CD nor have I received any confirmation that it has shipped. As such can you at least confirm for me that it shipped 11/5 as listed, or if it didn't ship on time can you please let me know when it did ship. I'm worried that it hasn't shipped at all, two days after it was released. If that's the case I could have just bought it from my local store two days ago instead of giving you guys the business.

I was surprised by T's double tracked vocals on I Love Her....one way out of tune and one in tune...post production audio bandaid? I'll have to dig out my old tape of this and listen to that source.

I don't have this release yet but listening to the commonly circulated audio source, I don't hear any double tracking.

I got an e-mail from Dave at Midheaven saying that the orders probably shipped out closer to the end of last week. He also said that I should shoot him an e-mail if I don't get my order this weekend. Hopefully Saturday, or tomorrow!

OMG.. "Flower"!!!!!!!

This is the best version of "Flower" ever. Better than teh LP version by far. Wow.

I don't mean to rub it in for anyone who hasn't received it yet but I think this is their best live album to date. Seriously. Amazing. "Kat N Hat" sounds so clear. "Flower" w/ scream tape gave me chills. Incredible set, incredible energy, great sound quality. Just brilliant. I'm looking so fwd to more archival releases.

anyone who has badmouthed Death valley 69 as the "weak" link of BMR , or as some sort of poppy throwaway can eat a bag o' dicks after hearing the version on this.

I'm pretty sure the second vocal on I Love Her All The Time is Lee's, but I could be wrong.

Also, I want to beat up the guy who is talking into the mic to purposely fuck with the recording durring the epic outro to Expressway.

yeah i agree it does sound like Lee, i think during this era Lee would like to double track his vocals w/ Thurston, common on DV '69...

I thought it could be Lee, but it's definitely Thurston X 2.

I don't know. I feel like it should be Lee. It's obviously not just like a chorus/echo pedal of some sort. It just seems odd to me that they'd overdub a 2nd set of vocals obviously not from this show for a live release?

Give them a hard time for that, link to this thread so they know youre letting other potential customers know they didnt fulfil their obligations. They should have included at least some cursory gift as a means of apology.

what sucks is I didn't go with the cheapest shipping option either. So yeah. Pre-ordered and paid for Priority shipping to receive it days after release.

No excuse for that nonsense. I ordered a record from Boa Melody Bar last year. They send me the wrong one (though it was a similar one that i was kinda interested in) and when i said I would post it back they said not to worry, and that they would post the original order out anyway. It was a few days late, but they more than made up for it.

Got mine today, and it's incredible. I love the killer mix, the violence of this great performance... I remember some years ago talking with some friends that "Anarchy on St Mark's Place" was the best Sonic Youth bootleg. This release makes justice.

It's Thurston voice, for sure.
