How about Paper Cuts? Kurt's best screaming is present in that song. |
i don't remember it. i said the ones i said because i listened to Bleach this morning, and am listening to In Utero right now.
no matter how trendy they may be they fucking kick ass. |

Agree with this one, and Catholic Block of course. |

also when she screams fuck you on "i think that i would die" |
not screaming, but the best screeching voices are jake bannon's of converge and varg vikernes' of burzum.
bar fucking none. |
if it's black metal, forget it.
|
how about something by tom waits? i dont know..."earth died screaming", or "temptation" or that fucked up tune he shouts in german on alice.
|
oh fuck...i forgot about julie's shriek at the end of "blinded" on eric's trip's love tara. money.

Yes!! they played that song a few weeks ago, and Kim let loose with that scream. I didn't expect her to do it, and it scared the bejesus out of me!!! It was awesome! |
converge is not black metal, burzum are the definition of black metal...as i said, not screaming; the comment about cave in's vocals reminded me of the 'verge.

Waits has some good screams on pretty much every album since he got married. not sure if there's a connection a couple more John Lennon - Cold Turkey Cracker - I Hate My Generation |
oops,i thought the start of DV 69 was a "gruop screaming" with thutston going a bit longer than the others...i always pictured it like that.doesn't he scream it when playing live?
|
I like Thom Yorke screaming in the end of "Climbing up the Walls". Pure despair.
Also, pretty good screaming is in Modest Mouse's "Dirty Fingernails", as far as I remember |
shit, I always thought that was Thurston screaming on Catholic Block. I fucking have to see that song at ATP now.
|
whorefrost check your rep points.hehe

I thought so, too. That's why I was so shocked to hear Kim scream in concert. Now that I hear it again, it seems so obvious that it's Kim. |
yeah, i hadn't listened to it in ages.. i actually thought it was a sample from a film or something
|
the singer from the Cynics in "Cry Cry Cry" has an amazing moment of wailing.
agreed w/ blixa's howl on "Stagger Lee". sounds like an airplane engine about to blow to pieces. |
lou on dinosaurs mountain man. and also that one song i forgot the name of
|
My call is Chino Moreno of the Deftones, BEST rock screamer, however my favorite scream in a song is Kim Gordon at the end of Mariah Carey & the Aurhur Doyle. "Someo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-oo-o-o-o-o-ne!" sounds like she almost fell over in the isolation booth putting that one out :)
|
Careful with that axe Eugene
|
Jon Spencer at the beginning of the Now I Got Worry album.
|
tame on frank black's part...alot of pixies songs actually...totally agree on stagger lee though
|
If we're talking screams alone.............No Pt II off TV Shit for sure. Lee's is my favorite. Also Lee's screams of joy in The Celestail Answer are great. THE CELESTIAL ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!
|
Iggy's "Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooord!" (plus scream) at the beginning of 'TV Eye'. And the scream in the middle, all his growls and howls and fucks and gutteral noises too. And his "RAM IT!"''s at the end.
I love Courtney's big scary (pause for breath) "FUCK!YOU!" right after that quiet bit in that song on 'Live Thru This' too. |
good thread.
"I MISS YOU" -good morning captain, slint (how the fuck did no one say that??) and whenever mukai from number girl screams. |
nirvana -drain you
stooges- tv eye (LOOOOOOOOORRRRDDDD, AOWOWWWWWWWWWWW) |
maybe not the "best" scream.. but i always enjoyed the screaming in the germs- richie dagger's crime
|
Kim's scream on DV69 live versions at the end of the last chorus and her screaming the last verse of "Orange Rolls, Angel's Spit".
I also enjoy Corin Tucker's wail and Kazu Makino's high pitched scream in "I am there while you choke on me" (thanks, nicfit), Swing Pool and Still Get Rocks Off. |
John Cale: Fear is the man´s best friend (the end)
