I am wearing a Big Black shirt that I purchased in 1989.
I can't believe it hasn't fallen apart yet.

lizzarddd 06.23.2006 09:23 AM

im wearing...a rubber soul beatles shirt with huge bleach stains from dying my hair with it on

gmku 06.23.2006 09:57 AM

Damn. I knew I should have worn a band T today.

I have to answer this by saying I am wearing, instead of a band T, a high school athletics T that I inherited from my daughter. I didn't even go to this high school, and neither did my daughter, but when people ask I can reply with dumb things like, "Yeah, I had a full athletics scholarship there for four years."

Kegmama, I too work in a crappy corporate office, but I like to push it. I have tenure, though. So I wear the occassional band T and shorts to work, especially days it's hot outside. What are they gonna do, fire me for wearing comfortable clothes? I'd take them to court on that one. And at 51, I have a hard time with anyone telling me what I can and cannot wear! Especially any supposed "superior" who's younger than me. Grrr...

One of the higher-ups here in the office (not in my supervisory chain) goes by me in her prim little suit and in that snotty kind of backhanded compliment way goes, "Oh, you look comfortable," like what are you wearing that to work for, ya know? I cooly replied, "Well, trust me, I am all about comfortable."

gmku 06.23.2006 10:08 AM

If it's still hot around here Monday, I'm going to wear my Confusion is Sex T-shirt.

So do I.

It gets a lot of looks, too. I get the feeling a lot of people (non-Sonics) are confused by it, which maybe is the point. But it's like I can see them trying to make the connection between the words and the image, not quite knowing if they should be detecting something obscene in there or not.

h8kurdt 06.23.2006 11:02 AM

Well I was debating hard before as to wheter to wear my Pink Floyd t-shirt or my Sonic Youth 'confusion is sex' t-shirt. After long thinking I chose (drumroll please) 'confusion is sex'. I don't seem to get many looks or mayber i'm not noticing them.

Speaking of band t shirts one thing I hate is girls wearing them. You'll have a glance to see what band it is then the girl catches your eye when you're going back up. Afterwards I'm left with a guilt that the girl thinks I was looking at her tits very annoying. One time it happened, saw her eye felt guilty so said straight after and said stupidly quick (I speak fast as it is) "I'm not looking at your tits if that's what you're thinking!". Needless to say she looked pretty horrified at my outburst.

CHOUT 06.23.2006 02:31 PM

Moog shirt I got free. It's not a band, but fuck it.

Great! I feel yr pain. I saw a young thing in a very tight-fitting Ramones T standing on the corner a few weeks back, and as I approached I smiled and said, "Nice T-shirt!" and although she smiled back and thanked me, I couldn't help but wonder if she thought I was really just leering at her breasts.

gmku 06.30.2006 01:52 PM

Today I am wearing a homemade (silkscreened) Sonic Youth T I made a couple days ago, basing my design on the fractured Sonic Youth stencil. Black T, white letters. I also ripped off the tape/crossbones design for another shirt.

Basically. It has the cover art on it with the band name how it's layed out on the 7". It's brown and so soft.

That's true. But there's a story behind why I wear it them to shows, simple story at that. I wore 1 to my first SY concert. Then after that show I saw J.Mascis+The Fog, so it became my tradition after that.

luxinterior 06.30.2006 02:55 PM
