Yeah, I've been looking on the internet about that. I really don't know where I got that. Maybe because on the news when they talk about the EU they always mention the Hague.

m1rr0r dash 04.04.2008 11:35 AM

maybe in the UK, in the States when they mention the EU or the UN or the "World Court" in the Hague, it is primarily to talk about "the Europeans don't understand that diplomacy will no longer work."

Cantankerous 04.04.2008 06:17 PM

i've got about two large ziploc bags filled with UK currency including coins which i assume will still be good, yeah?

biffbot 04.04.2008 06:18 PM

Yeah of course

Cantankerous 04.04.2008 06:23 PM

oh i see they're just doing like what they did with the $10 and $20 bills here.
pointless really if you ask me but the introduction of the euro was a brilliant idea.

Lurker 04.04.2008 06:26 PM

Yeah a bit pointless. The pound and fifty pence change every year in any case, which I think was a better idea. It's exciting getting each years new money. You should be able to use them as long as they're not really old, I think.

Cantankerous 04.04.2008 06:28 PM

i can't imagine getting excited about things like that. that sounds like my dad sort of hahaha, he collects state quarters and i was over at his house once and he found a state that he hadn't got yet and got all jolly about it.

Lurker 04.04.2008 06:30 PM

Hahah, I don't collect money, though I do get excited about things like that.

Cantankerous 04.04.2008 06:35 PM

you haven't got kool aid in the UK do you?
i'm taking an extended stay there soon and this could be problematic.

Lurker 04.04.2008 06:37 PM

No we don't. Is it a drink?
Where are you staying?

biffbot 04.04.2008 10:09 PM

i'm so new money, IT HURTS, son.

Toilet & Bowels 04.05.2008 04:51 AM

ugh, there's nothing worse than neveau riche. aside from having to look at Adam Smith's ugly capitalist mug on the £20 notes that is.

yes, it's a powder that comes in various fruit flavours that makes a delicious beverage when mixed with the proper amounts of sugar and water.

i'll be in manchester for a bit, then london.

We have the same sort of thing but not actual Kool-Aid. Powder is a little difficult to find though, you'll have to settle for Robinson's dilute liquid.

ALSO, ON THE SUBJECT OF GBP STERLING;

Britannia, who is now missing from the 50p coin, will most likely make a return on the upcoming redesign of the £2 coin, according to the Daily Mail. :)
