According to the BBC report I saw earlier, the judge passed sentence without actually proclaiming Saddam to be 'guilty', which seems a little strange.

Personally, I think the guillotine is the way to go with these things. The guillotine has a certain elan that is lacking in other methods of execution.

How about him being slowly destroyed from inside by truncated's ruthless sarcasm?

Anyway, I don't agree with the verdict. He should locked for life, possibly in some rat infested prison in iraq. Death will only make him a celebrated martyr for certain people. Obviously leaving him alive would piss of some people too.
Besides, hanging, when done properly, is a fast death.

I can bet the hangman will do everything intentionally wrong, to slow his death and make him suffer. Sometimes when people are hung they get boners.

yeah, a lack of oxygen increases sexual desire. On 6 Feet Under there's an episode where a guy purposly cuts off his oxygen so he can have a better orgasm, and he accidentally kills himself
