Fuck money, I'll take the trip to the moon thank you very much.

pbradley 01.05.2010 06:36 PM

Personally, I'm all for the demystification of space. It would be something like the scene in the matrix: take the red pill and see the truly meaningless material insignificance of the world (and then be the first to commit suicide in space) or take the blue pill and continue on in ignorance with a million in tow.

The other £950,000 (or a lot of it) I'd enjoy now while I'm young.

ah, someone who's smart with money! that's a good move.

here's a better one-- deposit the whole thing and just live off the interest for the rest of your life-- permanent vacation!!

i'd live off a backpack and keep notes of my lsd-addled travels.

pokkeherrie 01.05.2010 06:44 PM

I could travel and live off a backpack for a very long time, but surely not for the rest of my life.... I'd probably have to give in and use some of the money to buy a house at some point.

virgin galactic trips are only like 200k, but they don't go to the moon only the edge of the atmosphere. So.. Yot could do that 5 times, or once.. And still have 800k to spare

i was talking shit when i said that.

in truth, i'd be happy with a modest beach house, a small new york apartment, and time to write. but i wouldn't wanna buy a house-- repairs, property taxes, zoning disputes-- let that shit be somebody else's problem, not mine. i'll rent, and when i'm tired of the place, i'll move to the next one. owning shit = a big pain in the ass.

travel is good though.

I don't mean that solely as the act, though. I also mean just returning to Earth and finding myself incapable of returning myself into the psychology. Cultural shock on a metaphysical level.

you get what you pay for. have fun on yr budget trip to the moon! pack for cold weather.

SuperCreep 01.05.2010 07:42 PM

pbradley 01.05.2010 07:48 PM

You don't need that kind of money, you want that kind of money.

pbradley 01.05.2010 07:52 PM

Sure, maybe in the sense that nobody needs money.

Pookie 01.05.2010 07:54 PM

In the sense that nobody needs £1 million will do.

pbradley 01.05.2010 07:57 PM

Fine.

I really need money more than I need a trip to the moon. The amount can be less than a million.

static-harmony 01.05.2010 08:24 PM

Keep the money, and like pokkherrie said it will be cheaper later.

jon boy 01.05.2010 08:30 PM

take the fucking money!

Toilet & Bowels 01.06.2010 04:07 AM

going into outer space would be amazing but i'm not sure how much fun the moon would be once the novelty of being able to do really big jumps wore off. if i had a million quid i could do more or less whatever i want for the rest of my life.
