Another one I've just thought of: Gangs Of New York. I was actually fuming at the end of this film, angry with myself that I'd sat through this horseshi without leaving. Martin Scorcese still owes me 2 1/2 hours of my life back....oh God, just remembered that fucking U2 were on the soundtrack as well. Argh!

Oh god, and let's not forget Garden State. Although by this point, calling Garden State over-rated is getting a little over-rated itself.

The second Matrix film - my brain seized up whilst the rave in Zion was going on. It reminded me of an episode of "Fraggle Rock". The rest of the film was pure nonsense, though it was fun watching it with an audience full of kids who had bunked off school to see the early afternoon screening, and supplied plenty of commentary on the way.

Agreed with all and I'd add A Clockwork Orange.

equally, i didn't know this movie was highly rated-- i thought it was generally admitted as shit. i myself had enough with the atrocious previews that i haven't watched it, but i trust my wife's general good judgment in this matters (she saw it) and she claims it did suck.


sorry porks but the godfather is fucking great-- 1 & 2. if you're talking 3 it's generally agreed it's shit but actually i didn't hate it that much.
so is la dolce vita-- my favorite movie. i'll challenge you to a duel for that.
apocalypse now is good but perhaps people have made it into this kinda movie gospel which it's not
shaun of the dead is just a funny movie, it was very funny. masterpiece it wasn't.

I don't want to get into an argument with anyone about David Lynch, but most David Lynch movies are a real bore. And when they do manage to have some interesting scenes, the movie itself ultimately ends up going nowhere.

funny, i watched "dune" yesterday and it as worse than i remembered it. but i recall there was some story with this not being a "true" lynch movie.
