i think that you cannot "rep someone back".. that would be easy. i repped some girl for some pretty pic she posted and she repped me back and it was a grey rep. this happened oftentimes..

If you have negative rep, or if you have made very few posts, then your reps are grey and have no effect on the recipient's rep score.

what is very few posts..? some of that guys have about 1000 posts, for example..

I think you have to reach 20 posts before you can award/remove points.

The forum faq says: After you've made at least 20 posts to the forum, you can add to or subtract from the reputations of other users for whatever reason you want--good post, lame post, traded something with you and it went well (or it didn't), made you snarf bong-water on yr laptop... you know... anything.
