oh no!
It wouldn’t be fashion season without a tumble or two. The big spill to date happened today at Rodarte (those are the instructions given to the models at left), in front of VIP front row-ers Diane von Furstenberg, Elijah Wood, and Natalie Portman. While it’s always a little cringe-worthy when a girl takes a stumble on the runway, this time, as we watched sweet Abbey Lee’s ankles start to tremble and buckle, it particularly pulled on our heartstrings: The shoes were unbelievably high (she didn’t stand a chance!), the girl behind her couldn’t help but stomp right by Lee as she sat sprawled on the runway (that’s what they’re told to do, as cold as it seems!), and we were just told Lee has broken both her ankles in the past (give the girl an effin’ flat, people!). We’re sure she’s still a tad embarrassed, but fear not, Abbey: While some girls have completely fallen off the fashion show radar once they’ve become runway roadkill (at one Gucci show, Michelle de Swarte fell at least twice—remember her? Neither do we), lots of girls bounce back."

Today's purchases: 3 fitted tees (heather gray, dark blue, light blue), one short-sleeved point-collar shirt in a kind of french blue (all BR, of course). The shirt was on sale, and should look good with my black trousers.

Although glitter looks good on fashion models, I'm not down.

Cantankerous 09.09.2008 04:58 PM

you can end up looking like a drag queen if you don't know what yr doing.

A handy tip for those of you with green eyes:

Your eyeliner should be brown! This will enhance the colour of your eyes even more and you will get so so many compliments.

Brown eyeliner may be hard to find, so if this is the case for you here is a tip I can share with you.

Make your own eyeliner!

Get some brown lipgloss, the darker the better. Get a tiny pointed spoon. Have a little saucer of olive oil handy. Drop some olive oil into your lipgloss and swirl it around with your spoon (add a touch of flour if it gets too runny). When its the right consistency, brush it on your eyelids right along the lash line using the end of an old
spatula.

Hope this helps girls.

An interesting game for the girls to play.

Pick a male poster and read all of their posts in an Italian accent.

EMMAh 09.09.2008 05:12 PM

I don't look bad with brown eyeliner, but I don't use anything but black.

Eyeliner is also something I do like, once a month. Maybe?

i have such bad dark circles that i usually don't wear anything but mascara but as far as eyeliner: black or black/sparkles or nothing.

Pookie 09.09.2008 05:12 PM

Tip:

If you're out of rouge, use a mixture of flour and ground nutmeg instead.

Cantankerous 09.09.2008 05:13 PM

Tip: if you're Pookie and you're in this thread, get the fuck out unless you want to be castrated.

Pookie 09.09.2008 05:18 PM

Tip:

If you have a hole in the bottom of your shoe, put some card in the bottom until you can get to your local cobbler.

I use black sparkle stuff... but the sparkle is almost impossible to see when not in direct sunlight.

Pookie 09.09.2008 05:28 PM

Tip:

When wearing a white t-shirt, avoid doing any task which may cause stainage. Most things show up a lot more on white than on a dark colour (say, black for example).

I know what you mean. It's only women who say 'boob'. Men only say it when following it with 'tastic'.

fuck it, i ll ask my best friend to teach me how to use the sewing machine.

have you tried making something new out of old clothes? that's what i did, it's a bit easier since you already have a base. start by making things smaller, shorter or adding stuff...

at the moment i'm not really sewing that much, but trying to learn how to do proper embroiding. tried to put a bird on my old jeans yesterday:

yep i have the same problem, i can make some things but don't have the skills yet to make whatever i want.

BUT- i hear this from seamstresses all the time- if you actually know how to make good clothes, there's no fun in shopping anymore. you either think 'i can do that too' or you think it's crap quality.

EMMAh 09.13.2008 04:06 PM

ploesj, that is so cute!

I need to spread rep.
